Myopia control
The four options and their FDA status
Results vary from child to child. The doctor explains the evidence for each option before you choose, and some children use two together.

Choosing
How the doctor helps you choose
There is no single right answer. The doctor looks at your child's age and prescription, eye health, daily routine and comfort with each option, and explains the evidence for it.
Some options can be used together, and families often change options as a child grows. Results vary, and we write down what we measure so that every decision rests on the same numbers.
We refer you to another eye doctor when a child needs care we do not provide.
About the options
Can two options be used together?
Sometimes. Drops are often paired with glasses or contact lenses. The doctor explains whether a pair makes sense for your child.
What does off-label mean?
A drug or device is used for something other than what the FDA approved it for. Doctors may do this when they judge it appropriate, and they explain the evidence and the risks.
How long is an option used?
Usually for several years, while the eyes are still growing. The doctor reviews the plan at each visit.
